What is periodontitis?
Periodontitis is an advanced form of gum disease. While gingivitis affects only the gums, periodontitis also affects the deeper structures that support your teeth, including the jawbone.
This condition develops when dental plaque is not completely removed. The bacteria in this plaque can cause inflammation that spreads further and further. Without treatment, the fibers and bone surrounding the teeth gradually break down, which can eventually lead to loose teeth or tooth loss.
Periodontitis is a progressive condition: the sooner you take action, the more damage can be prevented.
This treatment contributes to a fresher feeling and a healthier mouth.
